In short
- SBI tenders are posted on State Bank of India's own website, under SBI in the News > Procurement News at sbi.bank.in. Each notice shows the issuing office, a reference number, start and end dates and the documents to download.
- Notices come from many SBI offices: the Local Head Office (LHO) of each circle, the Corporate Centre, the Global IT Centre (GITC) and departments such as Information Security.
- SBI's notices cover premises (branch buildings on lease, interiors, civil, electrical and AC works), IT (hardware, software, security services, AMCs) and services such as facility management, car hire and catering.
- For online bids and applications, SBI's notices point to its own e-tender portal, etender.sbi, where you need a Class 3 DSC with signing and encryption. Some SBI notices are GeM bids instead, with a GeM bid number.
- Many SBI offices keep panels of contractors, architects and vendors. An LHO notice made its panel valid for three years, and existing vendors had to apply afresh.
- On 31 October 2026, GovtTenderHub had 192 open SBI tenders, read from SBI's Procurement News page.
An SBI tender can be anything from an air-conditioning job at one branch to a data centre network contract at the bank's IT centre. State Bank of India buys for its branches and offices across the country, so its notices come from many desks at once. This guide explains where SBI tenders are published, which SBI offices issue them, what SBI buys, how its RFP, EOI and empanelment notices work, and how to prepare and send a bid.
Where SBI tenders are published
SBI's Procurement News page
SBI's website is now at sbi.bank.in (older notices still point to bank.sbi). Its tender notices are under SBI in the News > Procurement News. The same section has a Tenders Awarded tab, an Auction Notices tab and a link to Archived Procurement News for older notices.
Each notice in the list shows:
- Location: the SBI office that issued it, such as "LHO, CHANDIGARH", "CORPORATE CENTRE" or "GLOBAL IT CENTRE". This office is your buyer.
- Tender description: a reference number in bold, then the title.
- Start date and end date. The end date is the last day for bids or applications; the notice itself gives the exact time.
- Attachments: the files you need, labelled for example "NOTICE INVITING TENDER", "RFP", "PRICE BID", "BOQ", "SLA", "DRAWINGS" or "BID DOCUMENT".
Read the list closely. Notices that are withdrawn are marked: in October 2026 the page showed an audio-visual works notice from State Bank Academy, Gurugram, as "cancelled/withdrawn".
SBI's e-tender portal: etender.sbi
SBI's own e-tender portal is https://etender.sbi. An empanelment notice from SBI's Lucknow Local Head Office (June 2025) shows how it works:
- Forms could be downloaded from the bank's website (SBI in the News > Empanelment of Vendors) and from etender.sbi.
- Applicants had to upload signed and scanned copies of all documents through etender.sbi. No hard copy was accepted.
- The "agency for arranging online bidding" was M/s e-Procurement Technologies Limited, Ahmedabad, with etender.support@sbi.co.in as the support email. The notice listed separate helpdesk contacts for registration, DSC verification and profile approval, and for help with submitting.
- Applicants needed a valid email ID and a Class 3 digital signature certificate with signing and encryption.
Notices like this one list the helpdesk phone numbers, so take them from the notice you are bidding on. If you don't yet have the right DSC, our DSC for e-tender guide explains signing and encryption certificates.
GeM
Some SBI notices are bids on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). You can tell them by a reference number such as GEM/2026/B/8222704. In October 2026 these included disinfestation and rodent control for offices of LHO Bengaluru, catering for the LHO Bengaluru canteen, AAA class gold safes for branches in Ahmedabad, LTO8 data tapes, and a supply-and-installation tender from LHO Lucknow "through GeM portal". To bid on these you need a GeM seller account, and you bid on GeM itself.
Other routes
Some titles name the route themselves, such as a Chandigarh tender "on Bank's website" for car hiring agencies. Whatever the route, the notice is the final word: it says where and how bids are taken, so follow it.
Which SBI offices issue tenders
| SBI office | What its notices are usually about |
|---|---|
| Local Head Offices (LHOs) | Branch premises, building works, AMCs and local services in that circle |
| Corporate Centre | Services, equipment and empanelments for central departments |
| Global IT Centre (GITC) | IT hardware, software, networks and IT services |
| Information Security Department | Security reviews and managed security services |
LHOs head SBI's circles. In October 2026, notices came from the LHOs of the Chandigarh, New Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bhopal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram circles. Inside a circle, works are usually handled by the Premises and Estate (P&E) department, and many reference numbers also carry the code of an administrative office (AO). The Lucknow circle, for example, has eight administrative offices, from Bareilly to Varanasi.
Corporate Centre notices name the department, such as Marketing and Communication (a PR agency in October 2026) or CRPD (an expression of interest to shortlist service providers).
GITC notices name the IT team in the reference number, such as IT-UPI, IT-Network Technology or Software Factory.
The office matters because it sets the eligibility, documents and deadlines, and it is the office you ask about the work.
What SBI buys: types of SBI tenders
From the notices on SBI's Procurement News page in October 2026:
| Kind | Examples from SBI notices |
|---|---|
| Premises | Hiring premises for a new branch or a branch that is shifting |
| Building works | Interior and civil works, AC works, electrical works, restoring a branch building |
| IT and security | HSM devices, data centre network switches, a PPM tool, cloud AMC, security managed services |
| Services | Integrated facility management, car hire, catering, PR agency, pest control |
| Equipment | DG sets of 750 and 500 kVA, gold safes, audio-visual systems, net metering for rooftop solar |
| Consultants and panels | Project management consultants, architects, system integrators |
Premises: offering a building to SBI
Many LHO notices are not works at all. They ask property owners to offer premises on lease for a branch: "hiring of premises for SBI Petta branch (shifting)", "requirement of commercial/office premises for SBI Bina branch", "hiring of premises for new branch at Viraj Khand, Gomti Nagar". Read the notice and its attachments for what the bank wants, the price bid and how to submit, since these change from branch to branch.
Building works
Works notices come from the circles' P&E departments: interior and civil works at an SBI guest house in Indore, electrical works for SBI RSETI Latur, electrical installation for the renovation of a branch in Assam, and restoration of SBI's Chennai Main Branch building. They often carry the BOQ (bill of quantities), drawings or a layout as attachments.
IT tenders
GITC's notices in October 2026 included RFPs for hardware security module (HSM) devices for UPI, network switches for the Gachibowli data centre in Hyderabad, a PPM tool for project management, IT human resources, an AMC for IT cloud solutions, infrastructure security managed services and application security review. Some carry a separate SLA (service level agreement) file, which sets the service levels and penalties you would be held to. See more IT and electronics tenders, and our IT and software tenders guide for what IT buyers usually ask for.
RFP, EOI and empanelment: how SBI shortlists
SBI uses three kinds of notices for work where it wants to check a firm first:
- RFP (request for proposal): a full bid document with the scope, terms and evaluation method. GITC's IT tenders are often RFPs.
- EOI (expression of interest): a first stage to shortlist capable firms, usually without prices. Examples: an EOI for a project management consultant (LHO Chennai), an EOI for a centralised service desk for branches (GITC), and a "request for expression of interest for shortlisting of service providers" (Corporate Centre).
- Prequalification or empanelment: a list of approved firms that later get work or invitations. Examples: prequalification of an IBMS consultant (Bhopal), empanelment of architects (Patna circle), of architects, contractors and vendors (Maharashtra circle), of vendors for cyber security activities (Information Security Department) and of system integrators for multi-lane free-flow tolling.
If you miss an EOI or prequalification, you may not get the later RFP. Our guide to RFP, RFQ and EOI explains how the stages fit together.
SBI vendor empanelment
Empanelment notices sit in the same list and under SBI in the News > Empanelment of Vendors. The Lucknow notice of June 2025 (hiring of DG sets for branches and offices) set out terms like these:
- The panel was valid for three years from the date of the empanelment letter.
- Existing vendors of branches and offices also had to apply fresh.
- Meeting the criteria didn't guarantee selection, and the bank's decision was final.
- Canvassing in any form made an application liable to rejection.
- False or incomplete information could lead to rejection, or to de-listing later.
Other circles and departments set their own terms, so read each notice. Our vendor empanelment guide explains how panels work across government buyers.
Eligibility in SBI tenders: what notices ask for
Each SBI notice sets its own criteria, so an IT RFP and a branch AMC ask for different things. The Lucknow empanelment notice shows the kind of conditions SBI writes:
- Experience in the last 7 years before a cut-off date, proved with work orders or agreements of a minimum size (for DG hire, a minimum generator capacity in kVA).
- "Similar works" meant work done for bodies such as public sector banks, PSUs, central or state government departments and public listed companies.
- An office in the state (Uttar Pradesh), proved by a GST, ESI, EPF or shops and establishment registration, an electricity bill or, for an individual, Aadhaar.
- PAN for individuals and GST registration for firms.
- Client certificates issued by an officer not below Executive, Branch Manager or Regional Manager.
- Consent for SBI to take confidential reports from your clients and a credit opinion from your bank.
Government IT tenders in general ask about turnover, similar projects, certifications and OEM authorisation, so read an SBI RFP's eligibility section line by line before you spend time on the bid. SBI's procurement pages also list its Independent External Monitors (IEMs): these are the outside monitors for tenders that carry an integrity pact, and under the CVC's rules, signing the pact is a condition of the bid where a tender has one.
How to bid for an SBI tender
- Find the notice on SBI's Procurement News page or our SBI tenders page, and note the reference number, the office and the end date.
- Download every attachment: the notice, the RFP or bid document, the BOQ or price bid, the SLA and drawings. Check the page again before the deadline for changes or a withdrawal.
- Check where bids go. The notice will name etender.sbi, GeM, or another route.
- Register on etender.sbi early. Registration, DSC verification and profile approval are handled by the portal's helpdesk, so don't leave them to the last day. You need a Class 3 DSC with signing and encryption.
- Ask questions in time. Use the contact, email or pre-bid meeting the notice gives.
- Prepare the technical and price parts separately, in the formats given. Some notices ask you to sign every page and upload it; fill the formats without writing "attached" in place of details.
- Arrange the EMD or bank guarantee in the form the notice allows. Our bank guarantee guide explains the formats and costs.
- Upload before the closing time and keep the acknowledgement. Afterwards, check the Tenders Awarded tab on SBI's page.
Other public sector bank tenders
Other public sector banks also post tender notices on their own websites. Besides SBI, GovtTenderHub reads the tender pages of Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Union Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, UCO Bank and Bank of Maharashtra, so a search for a branch interior job or a bank AMC shows all of them together.
Find SBI tenders on GovtTenderHub
On 31 October 2026, GovtTenderHub had 192 open SBI tenders, read from SBI's Procurement News page. You can see them on our State Bank of India tenders page, search them with tenders from GeM and almost every state portal, and filter by state and closing date. Searching is free, and a free account opens full details of 10 tenders a day. To get new SBI notices by email, set up tender alerts: alerts for one district are free.
Common questions
Where can I see SBI tenders?
On SBI's website, sbi.bank.in, under SBI in the News > Procurement News. Each notice lists the issuing office, the dates and the documents. Our State Bank of India tenders page also lists open SBI tenders in one place, with filters by state and closing date.
How do I register on the SBI e-tender portal?
SBI's e-tender portal is etender.sbi. You register there with a valid email ID and a Class 3 DSC with signing and encryption, and the portal's helpdesk verifies the DSC and approves your profile. Do this well before the closing date of the tender you want.
How can I become an empanelled vendor of SBI?
Watch for empanelment notices under Procurement News and Empanelment of Vendors, and apply to the office that issued them, usually through etender.sbi. A panel lasts as long as its notice says; one LHO's panel was valid for three years, and existing vendors had to apply afresh.
Does SBI buy on GeM?
Some SBI notices are GeM bids, shown by a GeM bid number such as GEM/2026/B/… in the reference. For those, you need a GeM seller account and you bid on GeM, not on etender.sbi.
How do I rent my property to SBI for a branch?
SBI's Local Head Offices post notices for hiring premises for new branches and for branches that are shifting, under Procurement News. Each notice says where the bank wants premises and how to send your offer and price. Follow that notice exactly.
Where can I find SBI tender results?
SBI's Procurement News section has a Tenders Awarded tab next to the notices. For GeM bids, check the bid's status on GeM.
Can a small firm get SBI work?
Yes. Many SBI notices are local: AC, electrical and interior jobs at single branches, AMCs, pest control and car hire in one circle. Start with your own circle's notices and its empanelment drives, and keep your work orders and client certificates ready as proof of experience.
